Magento's Multi Store capabilities can allow you as the store manager to run stores that are multi-lingual, regionalised, with different pricing and tax structures as well as many other independently configurable elements. Controlling all of these stores in once place rather than through multiple installations of Magento will reduce your administration overhead.
